Pink Floyd Bio

Pink Floyd was formed in Cambridge in 1965 by Roger Waters, Nick Mason, and Richard Wright. They originally went by the name Sigma 6. Later that year, Syd Barrett joined the band and the band took the name Pink Floyd after two american jazz musicians, Pink Anderson and Floyd Council. After a few years, Syd left the band, and David Gilmour took his place. In 1983, Roger Waters left the band. Gilmour, Mason, and Wright kept the Pink Floyd name and continued to release albums and toured.
